Finn Lough is a luxury spa resort on the shores of Lough Erne, in Co.Fermanagh. Studio idir came on board as design partners in 2021, tasked with preparing a strategic overview for the resort, its existing buildings, future spatial needs, and potential sites. We prepared an overall masterplan, accompanied by compelling visuals to illustrate the potential of what we had identified as key areas for potential growth.

We have since designed and obtained Planning permission and Building Control approval for various developments within the resort (which is within a biodiverse area of forest and wetland on the shores of Lough Erne),
This includes:
- the retrofitting and extending of a former 3-bedroom guest lodge into separate hotel-style rooms (fully designed, all approvals obtained and costed)
- the addition of free-standing solar panels (complete)
- new prefab guest dome accommodation (complete)
- lough shore hot tubs (complete)
- new spa facilities for larger groups (currently on-site)
- a gathering space for weddings and larger events (temporary dome existing, and we are exploring with our clients a more permanent structure).
